Grassroots Music Showcase: City Lake + Stonnythedonny + Flaw + Will Kelsey | 17 April

  • Fiery Bird Venue 32 Goldsworth Road Woking, England, GU21 6JT United Kingdom (map)

Discover your new favourite artist at our monthly Grassroots Music Showcases, celebrating the very best of emerging, local talent.

City Lake are an indie pop/rock band from Guildford, bringing raw honesty and infectious spirit to every song. They write about heartbreak and the emotions hardest to say, but their energy on stage transforms it into celebration.  With sharp suits and soaring choruses, City Lake makes every performance feel like the start of something big.

Stonnythedonny is an alternative indie musician emerging from Surrey. He takes inspiration from genres as varied as jazz and punk. Often compared to artists like King Krule, Cosmo Pyke and Puma Blue, Stonny composes with chordal structures inspired by the likes of Joe Pass and Chet Baker.  Stonnythedonny will be bringing his full backing band to The Fiery Bird for an unforgettable show.

Formed in Surrey, Flaw are an alternative rock band carving out a sound that’s raw, emotive, and unapologetically real. Drawing influence from contemporary artists like Wunderhorse and Keo, alongside the shadow of Radiohead and the grit of ’90s grunge, the band blend modern vulnerability with heavy, textured guitars and restless energy.

Will Kelsey’s reputation for songwriting and production see this Guildford artist in demand from London to Nashville, crossing genres as diverse as country rock and musical theatre.  Will has agreed to give The Fiery Bird a special, acoustic performance of his most thought provoking lyrics and catchiest melodies this April.

Whether you’re passionate about supporting new talent, love live music, or simply fancy a brilliant night out, our Grassroots Music Showcases are the perfect way to experience the buzz of the local music scene.
