Irish singer songwriter Enda McCabe joins us as part of Woking Roots: Ground Up, Live to share songs and stories in Irish and English
Enda McCabe from Galway is a valued and acclaimed part of the Irish music scene. Gigging extensively for many years in Ireland and the UK he shares his songs and stories in both English and Irish from 3-5pm on Sunday 18 October
Ahead of his show at Fiery Bird on 18 October, he has agreed to hold a traditional Irish Song workshop from 12pm-1.30pm where he speaks of the influence of Frank Harte, song collector and singer, a huge influence on him and many others, as well as songs in Irish. However, as he says 'Participation is the thing and anyone who comes has their own songs, ideas etc. Everything goes into the mix!'
Limited numbers so book early for this fantastic event brought to Woking as part of our Woking Roots: Ground Up, Live Arts Council Programme reflecting the diverse communities of Woking.
You will see down Walton Rd, roads like Kilrush and Kerry Terrace, Irish labourers built Sheerwater after the war, Woking had a very active and large Irish association, holding dances, celebrations, cultural events like a regular Fleadh and St Patrick's Day events at Woking Centre Halls.

Our second Monday of the month open mic for all singers, players, poets, magicians and comedians from beginner to experienced. Backline provided. £1 entry 7pm sign up for 7.30 start - 10.30pm. The open mic on second Monday each month is a sober space. Age 14+
